BEFORE THE OPERATION  

Stop smoking at least 30 days before the operation.

Don’t abuse alcohol or drugs.

Avoid using medicines that contain AAS (Acetilsalycilise Acid) as they increase the chance of bleeding

Don’t use medicines to loose weight for at least 30 days before.

Take to the hospital your hairbrush, toothbrush, loose-fitting clothes, trousers with an elastic waistband, button down shirts/blouses and sunglasses (in the case of eyelid surgery).

Always buy 2 girdles. Always have a clean one ready to use.

A companion is of extreme importance.
 
AFTER THE OPERATION  

On the way home, place the car seat very low down.

Eat healthily and drink lots of water. It is a good sign when your urine is transparent!

Diets could be very harmful to your well being.

Your first bath should be lukewarm and always have someone close by. Dizziness is very common, but should only be for the first couple of days. Nausea is common owing to low blood pressure. If this happens, Lie down or sit with your head between your knees.

Curatives should be taken off after 24hs and the area washed with soap and water.

When necessary use an antiseptic cream.

The area should always be kept dry.

Exercises should only be continued when the doctor gives the go ahead.

The taking out of the stitches doesn’t hurt and doesn’t bleed.
