Types used:
Local: The most common. Application directly on the area to be operated, generally associated with sedation, where the patient sleeps and doesn’t see the application. Utilized in the following surgeries: Breast Augmentation, Breast reduction, Otoplasty (sticking out ears), Blephoraplasty (eyelids), Rhinoplasty (nose), Scar correction, Liposuction for small volumes.
Peridural or Rack: Application in the back. The patients’ abdomen, back and legs go to sleep. Also associated with sedation, the patient goes to sleep before the application. Utilized in liposuction, tummy tucks, mini tummy tucks, breast reduction and butt augmentation.
General: Rarely used. The medicines are applied into the vein and the patient goes to sleep, nevertheless there is need of a respirator. Utilized in: Rhinoplasties with correction of the deflector of the septum, associated surgeries and long surgeries. |
